History of Zenith Watches
Zenith’s roots trail back to 1865 where in the town of Le Locle, in the Canton Neuchâtel, young Georges Favre-Jacot started to manufacture precision “Fabrique des Billodes” pocket watches, later turning into the renowned luxury watch brand of Geneva Switzerland.
From 1900 Favre-Jacots even produced pendulum and maritime clocks. After the Great War, Zenith started manufacturing wrist watches now under James Favre, winning precision awards and producing models as Chronomatic (1944). Later on, El Primero took part in the success of a company, also producing for Rolex, among the few to still produce the own movements in-house to this day.
